Grandma and Grandpa Barrett enlist Missy’s help to clear out the attic at their house. As the three of them set about digging through boxes and uncovering long-forgotten items stored in the attic, the chore turns into a mystery when Missy finds a beautifully carved wooden hawk hidden away in one of the boxes. On closer inspection, the hawk reveals a secret compartment with a clue waiting to be found and solved. Missy knows the best way to crack the case is to reach out to people she knows who can help. It’s not easy unravelling a mystery when you’re a nine-year-old undercover private eye supersleuth detective but with a keen eye for details and a lot of hard work, sometimes the reward is more than any child could anticipate.

It isn’t long before clues start coming out of the woodwork, taking the investigation through twists and turns of epic proportions. What Missy and her friends, Wren and Aspen, discover is bigger and better than anyone could begin to imagine.
